About Frenzy Theatre Co

Frenzy Theatre Co is an independent organisation with a focus on creating opportunities for early career artists to create professional standard work. Established in 2020 by Artistic Director Belle Hansen and Company Artist Matilda Gibbs, the company has worked with hundreds of emerging artists this year through developments, residency programs, workshops and show seasons.

Whilst studying together at the Victorian College of the Arts, our first collaborative effort resulted in Potty Pachanga, a verbatim site-specific piece about obscured public toilet etiquette. We both confronted the social politics of the work with the same chaotic and ridiculous angle. When all was said and done, we thought it would be a shame to let the craziness end there. So, then in came Frenzy.

We kicked off 2023 with our highly anticipated and successful Theatre Works season of Motherlod_^e. And from that season, straight into our new work The World according to Dinosaurs, touring to Geelong, Bendigo and Melbourne, for the VCE Drama playlist. In 2024, we have two massive upcoming works PIPER & The Roof is Caving in. Read more about them on our Upcoming Works and In Development pages.

Frenzy's work is pop culture-based, and grounded in its commitment to dynamic physical theatre, ensemble devising and maximalism. To us, more is more!
