PIPER

Once upon a time in a far away land some dude with a flute ran an elaborate scam.

Well that's the official stance of the council and media…

they’re always reliable right?

Frenzy Theatre Co presents the Australian Gothic reimagining of the Pied Piper of Hamelin with an ensemble of female and non-binary performance makers, circus artists and live instrumentalists. A warped version of the much loved fable that will have you questioning the very ground you stand on and rooting for the wrong side.

PIPER is a theatrical explosion of ideas that defies definition for a post-truth media saturated world. It's fun, it's bold, it's unforgettable.

THE ROOF IS CAVING IN

Please no more ‘pleases, sorries or thank yous’. THANKS… sorry!

The Roof is Caving In is a collision of Australian Gothic, Picasso & the uncontrollable urge to say “sorry” when you run into a chair. Hester and Bronwyn are people pleasers at the mercy of the landscape around them: A tiny studio apartment with two trundle beds and a lot of ‘character’.

Fresh out of school, fresh out of home and in their first ever share house. As the two apartment dwellers desperately try to make this small space a home, they are met with unforeseeable circumstances and have to navigate the repercussions of constantly compromising to avoid confrontation.

A work of surreal theatrical grandeur that features a live multi-instrumentalist quintet.

"bursting with ideas and wildly original"

- Stage Whispers

"the presence of a live band on stage is inspired and the music itself is worth the price of admission"

- Arts Hub

"a highly entertaining, absurdist look at the challenges of renting"

- My Melbourne Arts

"☆ ☆ ☆ â˜† 1/2  - a wonderful and fun nightmare which is just a little too close to reality to be entirely comfortable"

- What Did She Think?

THE WORLD ACCORDING TO DINOSAURS

Are you alive? Yes.

Are you dead? No.

Are you real? Yes…
Are we considered a protein or a fatty acid?
I don’t know, it wasn’t on the wiki page.

The World According to Dinosaurs is an interrogation of globalism through the lens of palaeontology, world events and what we had for dinner last night. A culmination of the stories we tell ourselves about existence. Fact, fiction, wives’ tales, white lies, myths, learnt behaviours, common misconceptions – it’s all part of the human narrative.

Frenzy Theatre Co presents a work of physical theatrical grandeur that journeys across genre and time.

“This is how you do the mechanics of theatre. The performances and production elements of

The World According To Dinosaurs are impressive, with few flaws to be found.”

 – What Did She Think?

“The production is filled with great dance choreography, impressive lighting effects and sound design Frenzy Theatre Co have realized another amazing hour of entertainment” – Lilithia Reviews

“The play greatly encapsulates the moment as planet destruction can’t be ignored” – Inner City News

In front of a dark green backdrop, a woman with long brown hair and a non-binary person with short curly brown hair look into the camera with shocked expressions. Between them is a blow up dinosaur that towers above them, the bundle of three are wrapped in an apron.

MOTHERLOD_^E

Kill them. WooHoo them. Control them. Save them. How long can someone have control over a world before their dirty laundry is reflected back at them?

A work of theatrical grandeur that drags the audience inside of a Windows PC to experience a digital mashup of physical theatre, nostalgic game fantasy and unbridled morbid curiosity.

Our once avid teenage player is now a disillusioned adult. Watch her dictate sims’ personalities, sexuality and humanity, whilst our two-dimensional friends are confined to their single household.

Sims has helped a generation of queer players process uncharted thoughts they didn’t know how to voice. It created a sanctuary to try on different personas, and explore gender and identity. MOTHERLOD_^E is a dark unveiling of the tension between innocent exploration and the malevolent results of playing God unchecked.

“MOTHERLOD_^E is hilarious and the ensemble is outstanding. – Theatre First

“Sixty-Five minutes of glorious mayhem – The Blurb

“One of the shows best moments is a sudden explosion of queer erotica – The Age

“MOTHERLOD_^E is a whole lot of fun and I can think of very few things better to do this summer then go and have a laugh with Frenzy Theatre Co at Theatre Works.” – What Did She Think?

A clump of eight computer generated looking people in front of a purple backdrop. From left to right there is a pizza delivery man with blonde hair and a black cap, an Italian female sports fan in a blue jersey with her face painted rainbow and her hand in the air, a business man in a suit jacket with his eyes crossed and his right hand pointing towards the sports fan, an Asian woman with a green singlet gasping in the centre, a female burglar who has long brown hair holding a small yellow flower, the grim reaper with smokey black eyeshadow and a scythe, a plumber with a mallet and a blue jumpsuit and finally a maid with a pink wig throwing up water.
